Two of the Warriors’ biggest personalities suggested that they might release an album. Draymond Green is not here for it.

The Golden State Warriors have a hilarious duo in JaVale McGee and Nick Young. The two players are among the most vibrant and funny personalities on the team, and have been close friends ever since their days as teammates on the Washington Wizards.

And now they might be . . . musical teammates? The dynamic duo took to social media recently to tease a potential album release.

Album on the way

A post shared by Nick Young (@swaggyp1) on

They both posted the same Instagram picture of themselves in the studio, with Young writing the caption “Album on the way”, and McGee simply captioning the photo with a microphone emoji.

While the two certainly may just be having fun, an album wouldn’t be incredibly surprising. McGee has released songs as a rapper (under the name “Pierre”), has done work as a DJ, and runs an independent record label.

Young, to my knowledge, has no professional music experience. That said, he was engaged to rapper Iggy Azalea, so maybe he picked up some things along the way.

Draymond Green, however, is not convinced. According to The Mercury News, Green is not too excited about listening to the Young portion of such a collaboration, saying, “I don’t want to listen to Nick rap. You got to get a better artist.”

Green was a bit more excited about McGee, saying, “I actually heard JaVale. I hear him on the plane all the time doing his stuff. He’s very smart and really good with computers. I don’t doubt he can do it.”

Only time will tell if McGee and Young are actually planning on releasing an album, but you can bet I’ll be giving it the full Rolling Stone treatment if they do.
