Warriors news: Kevin Durant, Draymond Green exchange in Sacramento is no big deal

Another irregularly scheduled installment of links, news and bon mots from all the best corners of the internet!

It seems like LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in a panic since losing to the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena. The latest evidence is below.

The Cavs are still looking for a playmaker. Check out this ESPN article for an update (spoiler: it’s nothing more than a rumor…for now)

And this Kevin Love bon mot, “…A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to put its pants on…”

David West is getting close to a return

Anthony Slater reported that he participated in practice. Unlikely for Wednesday’s game, but the wily vet should return soon. It will be interesting to see if McAdoo can hang on to his minutes once that happens.

Love crowds and good coffee?

JaVale McGee was apparently at the Pete’s coffee in the SF Ferry Building today. A nice chance to literally rub elbows with your fellow Dubs fans. Seriously though, with the rain, it could actually be a great chance to get close.

This one’s for Kim Stubbe.

Ever notice that Klay looks like Jon B.? This Redditor did.

I can only assume that it’s just a matter of time before we get a Klay highlight video set to this song. God bless the internet.

In case you missed it...

Draymond Green and Kevin Durant got into a bit of a kerfuffle during the last game. I think this was the play at the root of it all.

But here’s the thing, it’s not a big deal. I think Dray just wanted KD to either drive AWAY from him, or just take the shot. As Bram Kincheloe pointed out the other day.

It’s not a big deal, this is apparently how Green communicates.

Kerr’s communication cost him $25k.

Stick to smashing clipboards, Kerr, they’re MUCH cheaper.

While we are on the subject of that game, can we take a second to appreciate Boogie Cousins? Not only did he demolish us on the court, did you catch him encouraging the refs to eject our whole team?

Beautiful. Another one, this time NSFW (audio). I am good friends with a Kings fan and I can assure you, there is not a lot of love for Warriors fans invading the Kings arena. Cousins is of like mind, giving one fan a harsh greeting in the post-game hallway.

Know your base, Cuz! Future mayor of Sacramento?!

FanShots

Tip o’ the hat to BornInDaEB for his unyielding support of our FanShot section. I would have missed Zaza Pachulia saying that he wants to come back, otherwise.

While we will of course need to struggle to fill our annual roster with cheap pieces to slot in around our superstars, having Zaza’s reliable presence to count on sets my soul at ease.

And same goes for Lacob’s recent comment about Jerry West

http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/2017/2/6/14529524/warriors-owner-joe-lacob-on-jerry-west-s-future-beyond-this-season-we

West, if you’ll recall, recently had a health scare. Sounds like Lacob is willing to work around Jerry’s schedule in order to keep him around the team. Light years.

I hope JaVale got an assist on this one

GoodGuyGr3g swayed away from his previous subjects, but you should definitely check out his newest FanPost on two of the best coaches in the history of the NBA.

“Great heroes need great sorrows and burdens, or half their greatness goes unnoticed. It is all part of the fairy tale.” Some pretty amazing humans out there are really breaking it down for us right now. Keep your ears open and your heads up!

Sleepy Freud comment highlight of the week

As we all wring our hands and cringe at the memory of Draymond Green clutching at the inside of his knee after a big fall, Sleep reminds us that, “All of the Warriors’ core players are playing significantly less than they have in the past. This is important. Maybe we don’t see our big three all sitting out entire 4th quarters, but Kerr is going out of his way to keep everyone’s minutes down. Good news, especially when you contrast our approach against LeBron James’ 37.5 minutes per game.“

Ok, that’s it for this installment. As always, feel free to drop any other links I missed in the comments.

Warriors next game is tomorrow, but strap in. All-Star break is coming up, so we are looking at a distinct lack of Warriors over the next couple of weeks.
