2017 NBA Awards: All-Defense teams leaked; Draymond Green only unanimous 1st Team selection

If all the awards end up leaking before tonight’s show, the NBA really is going to have to rethink how they do this.

The 2016-17 NBA All-Defensive results have leaked, and Draymond Green has 99 1st Team votes and zero 2nd Team votes. He is the only unanimous 1st teamer this year. Rudy Gobert, his only real challenger for Defensive Player of the Year, received two 2nd Team votes (one 1st team vote went to Hassan Whiteside, while the other one went to DeAndre Jordan). This all bodes well for Draymond finally winning his first ever DPOY award tonight.

Via Chris Haynes, here are the results:

I’m surprised Klay Thompson did not make the 2nd team over Tony Allen. He did however receive more 1st Team votes (16) than anyone else on the honorable mention list, and only one less 1st Team vote than Tony Allen. Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala also received a smattering of votes, with one intrepid voter putting Iguodala on his 1st Team ballot.

Also, the fact that Kevin Durant recieved less votes than Russell Westbrook is ... embarrassing for the voters. Um, did y'all watch the season? Who the heck were the five people who voted him 1st Team? Those five votes count for the totality of his points. He got five 1st Team votes and zero 2nd Team. Wow.

So, what do you guys think. Does this mean we’ll see Draymond Green win his first ever DPOY award tonight?
