Wait a sec! Cleveland and Boston’s deal involving Isaiah Thomas and Kyrie Irving might not happen

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cleveland Cavaliers are having second thoughts on completing the deal upon doing Isaiah Thomas’ physical. He has been dealing with a hip injury since May.

On Friday night, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers are unsure of whether to follow through with the Kyrie Irving-Isaiah Thomas trade due to Thomas’ hip injury.

It’s impossible to predict how this will play out, but I do think there’s a decent chance the Cavaliers void this deal. Isaiah Thomas’ hip injury was reportedly a serious issue during the trade negotiations, and now it seems it might be worse than previously thought.

Although he did not opt for surgery, Thomas’ condition seems pretty serious as explained here. As a five-foot-nine point guard, an injury that makes him permanently even one step slower will be disastrous. He’s already 29, and his hip could get worse.

What a crazy offseason this has been. If the Cavaliers void this trade, I have no clue what will happen to Kyrie Irving, Isaiah Thomas, and the two top teams in the Eastern Conference. Buckle your seatbelts, folks.
