The Golden State Warriors game against the Chicago Bulls got off to one of the worst starts imaginable. Rookie sensations Jordan Bell, who was acquired on draft day from the Bulls, was seriously injured on the first possession of the game.
Bell, getting his second consecutive start, attempted to block a Robin Lopez dunk, and came down awkwardly. Here’s the video for anyone who wants to see it (it’s not gruesome, don’t worry).

While it’s a little unclear what happened, it unfortunately appears pretty serious. Bell was down for quite a while and, after trying to walk off the court, needed a wheelchair.
Jordan Bell hurt on the first possession here in Chicago. Went up to block a Robin Lopez dunk attempt. Grabbing at his left leg. Looks bad.

Jordan Bell still down. Entire team has come off the bench and surrounded him. Trainer grabbing at his lower left shin/ankle area.

Given the reports, Bell’s injury could be anything from his foot, to his ankle, to his shin. As soon as any more information surfaces, we’ll let you know. Hopefully it looked worse than it actually is.
In the mean time, Kevon Looney and JaVale McGee’s roles just increased pretty dramatically.
