It’s been a long journey, but Chris Boucher finally made his professional basketball debut. The forward from the University of Oregon, where he was teammates with Jordan Bell last year, returned to the court Wednesday night when he suited up for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G-League.
Boucher, who has been rehabbing a torn ACL, is on a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors. He signed with the team after going undrafted this past summer.
While Santa Cruz - Golden State’s G-League affiliate - lost the game, Boucher played 15 minutes, and did a little bit of everything. He shot 4-6 from the field, and 1-2 from beyond the arc, en route to 11 points. He also had 3 blocked shots, and 2 rebounds.
If Boucher gets in game shape, he might see some run with Golden State this season, especially if Bell’s injury keeps him out for a long time. Either way, it’s great to see Boucher back on the court, and making progress towards playing in the NBA.
