To help erase the memory of last night’s game, let’s go back to the distant past. A happier past when the Warriors played defense and made adjustments. This is so long ago that Jason Kidd was still the coach of the Bucks and Stephen Curry was still injured. This was the ancient times of the second week of January 2018. And in this game, the Bucks pulled out a confusing and challenging play for the Warriors.
The play was so noteworthy that Draymond Green specifically complained about it in the post-game interview, disgusted that the Bucks kept scoring with it until the Warriors made adjustments to shut it down by the fourth quarter. By then, the Bucks had wiped away the big Warriors lead, but at least the bleeding had stopped.
Here’s a video telling the story of the play and the defensive adjustments the Warriors made. Starring Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Nick Young and David West.
