With Andre Iguodala out, Jacob Evans and Alfonzo McKinnie are probably in line for more minutes.

The Golden State Warriors will face the Utah Jazz tonight without the help of Andre Iguodala, who is out with a calf injury.

And that leaves plenty of minutes for Patrick McCaw, who is looking to prove himself worthy of... oh. Right. He’s still holding out because he wants...more minutes.

OK, OK... I know it’s not just about more minutes, as Anthony Slater of The Athletic has previously made clear. But moments like tonight’s game are exactly why McCaw’s holdout has been so frustrating: with a combination of aging veterans and inexperienced young guys on a team that has no reason to take the regular season seriously, there would be plenty of opportunity to prove himself an earn the more “expansive” role he’s looking for.

Anyway, Drew Shiller of NBC Sports Bay Area shared Warriors coach Steve Kerr’s words about the McCaw situation earlier today, noting that McCaw is welcome back to the team whenever he figures out what he wants out of this season.

“He knows where we stand. We’d love to get him here. There’s still a place for him here. He has to just make up his mind which direction he wants to go.”

In the meantime, Jacob Evans and Alfonzo McKinnie figure to soak up the majority of majority of Iguodala’s minutes tonight and take advantage of an excellent opportunity to expand their role on the Warriors’ roster.

Share your thoughts on both players and the Warriors performance tonight as it unfolds in the comments.
