Social Sunday 10/21: The season is underway

Another season is off and running, so let’s check in on the Warriors social accounts.

The first week of the 2018-19 NBA season is nearly in the books. It’s been a fun week across the league, from the Golden State Warriors outrageous ring ceremony on opening night, to the wild saliva-fueled brawl between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets on Saturday.

A fresh season means fresh features on Golden State of Mind, and so this is the introduction to a new column titled Social Saturday. The inaugural iteration is a Sunday version, for a variety of nuanced reasons that definitely don’t include me forgetting to post this yesterday.

Either way, Social Saturday/Sunday will just be a collection of tweets and Instagram posts from members of the Warriors, so that you can relive the week through the eyes of the team.

Canon Curry’s first game

In the preseason finale, Canon Curry - Ayesha and Steph Curry’s third child - got to see his MVP dad play for the first time.

Time to get those rings

Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the rest of the squad were stoked to get their 2018 championship rings.

Jonas!!!

In the second game of the season, Jonas Jerebko was the unlikely hero. Against the Utah Jazz - the team that waived him this offseason - Jerebko had a huge game, including the game-winning tip-in.

The excitement - and revenge - of the play was not lost on Jerebko’s new teammates.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Andre Iguodala and Jordan Bell had some thoughts on the melee at the Staples Center that saw the ejections (and soon to be suspensions) of Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, and Brandon Ingram.

The rookie is all about positivity

Jacob Evans III had a tough preseason, and hasn’t made it onto the court yet this season. But that isn’t impacting his great attitude.
