Cameras catch Kevin Durant uttering a funny phrase mid-game

I can’t say I’ve heard this one before.

One of the greatest things about the NBA is the on-court microphones that pick up so much audio. Sometimes that allows us to some inside info as the players yell out sets or directions, and sometimes it lets us get used to a players mannerisms (for instance, we now know that Draymond Green yells “AND ONE!” after every single shot attempt).

And sometimes it simply lends itself to funny moments. Such was the case on Wednesday night, in the first quarter of the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Washington Wizards.

Damian Jones took the ball hard to the rim, and, prior to an emphatic dunk attempt (which he missed but was fouled on), Kevin Durant yelled some words of instruction and encouragement for him.

I cannot say I’ve ever heard that one before, and perhaps Durant could benefit from thinking about his phrasing next time, but I don’t care. That was a terrific moment. Thanks, KD.
