Warriors vs. Pelicans: Shaun Livingston still out with foot soreness

The Warriors will face the Pelicans without Shaun Livingston once again.

As with the past two games, the Golden State Warriors will enter tonight’s game without the aid of Shaun Livingston who will remain out due to foot soreness, according to Warriors PR.

It’s important to emphasize that this is neither a ploy for rest nor a serious injury — they’re holding him out for what appears to be precautionary measures just to be as careful as possible with a roster that is clearly capable of winning games handily without Livingston.

Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle summed up the situation in its entirety in his report earlier today.

It is the third straight game Golden State will be without Livingston, who has dealt with soreness in his right foot since the preseason finale Oct. 12 against the Lakers in San Jose. His absence has freed up time for Quinn Cook, Andre Iguodala, Alfonzo McKinnie and even rookie Jacob Evans.

Alfonzo McKinnie’s emergence has certainly been the silver lining of Livingston’s absence — while the superstars have been dominating the headlines with explosive performances, McKinnie has quietly proven that he belongs on this team.
