DeMarcus Cousins is getting very, very close to making his Golden State Warriors debut. So close, in fact, that the team is sending him somewhere more intense than the NBA: The G League.
The Warriors announced that Cousins will be joining Golden State’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Coach Steve Kerr said the reason for the move was because Golden State doesn’t practice hard enough, due to the rigors of the NBA schedule. In Santa Cruz, Cousins can go through more intense workouts and scrimmages.
While Cousins will be with the team (which employs his brother, center Jaleel Cousins), don’t expect him to play in any games. Santa Cruz is off until Friday, and the expectation is that Boogie will return to Golden State on Thursday, when the team prepares for their trip to Sacramento.

-DeMarcus Cousins will practice with G-League @Warriors, beginning Monday and several times this week. Next game is Friday in Santa Cruz.
-Likely will join NBA team Thursday for trip to Sac.
-Return date for actual game still TBD.
It’s still unclear when Cousins will actually play in an NBA game, but it’s clearly coming very, very soon.
