And for the first time in about a month, they’ll begin the game with all their all-star starters — Draymond Green is returning to action after an extended absence due to an injury.
As described by Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area, Green has missed 14 of the Warriors’ 27 games thus far this season and the Warriors went 8-6 during that time — some of it was time without Green and Steph Curry, some just Green. But tonight, we can hope to really see the Warriors build the type of momentum we know their capable of as the team continues to wait for DeMarcus Cousins, which Ron Kroichick of the San Francisco Chronicle wrote about at length earlier today.
For Green’s part, not only is he excited to get back on the floor because it has been a while since he played a full game but also because he still thinks he can win the 2019 NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, as described in Poole’s article.
Despite missing half the season, Draymond Green has no doubt that he still can chase — and win — the Defensive Player of the Year award. The quest begins Monday, when @Warriors face MIN in Oakland. pic.twitter.com/fxvHX2UO7r— Monte Poole (@MontePooleNBCS) December 9, 2018
Let’s hope the team can finally come together again and keep this winning streak going!
