As Steph Curry grabbed a strong rebound in traffic, he was fouled by Lou Williams. Curry briefly flexed and started dribbling the ball, but Patrick Beverley took exception and got into it with the Warriors superstar, causing the refs to whistle the two for techs.
Curry wasn’t too pleased with the decision, since he didn’t really respond at all to the confrontation from Beverley. But according to the two-time MVP, his technical foul came from flexing his muscles, which the ref assumed was done in the direction of Beverley.
Stephen Curry said he got T’d up early because the ref thought he was flexing at Patrick Beverley. “I flex all the time. Obviously, I have nothing really to work with.”— Connor Letourneau (@Con_Chron) December 24, 2018
“I flex all the time,” Curry said. “Obviously, I have nothing really to work with.”
That’s a pretty hilarious quote, and always fun to see Curry not take things too seriously. And he’s right, of course, as he does flex with some regularity. And grabbing an offensive rebound in traffic, as one of the smallest players on the court, is a pretty good time to show off the muscles.
