Kevon Looney had his high school jersey retired

And the whole team showed up for the ceremony.

The Golden State Warriors had on off day on Thursday, as they prepared for the final game of their road trip against the Milwaukee Bucks. And they got the chance to spend it in a pretty special way.

Kevon Looney - who has become the team’s starting center in the aftermath of the Damian Jones injury - was honored by his high school, Alexander Hamilton, with a jersey retirement and ceremony.

And rather than quietly attending the jersey ceremony on his own, like so many players do, Looney - who was born and raised in Milwaukee - was accompanied by his entire star-studded team. It’s quite a sight to behold.

It’s just another sign of how close and unique this Warriors organization is, that they made Looney’s special moment a team-wide celebration. Surely it was incredibly memorable for Looney.

And it must have been really exciting for the kids at the school to have their gym taken over by Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and the two-time defending champions.
