24 hours after putting the Golden State Warriors on his back against the San Antonio Spurs sans Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant tried to repeat that feat against the feisty Portland Trail Blazers. And he would have gotten away with it too, if not for that darned meddling backcourt of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum!
Dat Durant boy . . . he good.

The Warriors were unable to replicate their magic from their win over the Spurs, as they faded late in Portland, 125-108. Durant kept the champs in the fight with brilliant play, delivering proverbial haymakers all night in an attempt to keep pace with the explosive Trail Blazer offense. He would finish with 40 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field, 6-of-12 from three point range, and a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. He also ran the offense for the most of the evening, finishing with 6 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Durant started off hot:

KD was so hot he angered a court-side Blazer enthusiast:

Kevin Durant discusses the interaction with the ejected fan courtside: "I'm glad the ref got his ass." pic.twitter.com/tWTP3Jw6Eq

And overall, he was just flat out cooking the entire game:

Per @EliasSports, Kevin Durant is the first player to score 50 & 40 points in consecutive road games vs. the same opponent since Allen Iverson at Milwaukee in 2004 & the first Warrior to do so since Rick Barry at Detroit in 1967.

If only the Warriors could get a win in Portland when Durant is putting up monstrous numbers!
