We’re all counting down the days until Stephen Curry returns to the Golden State Warriors. The two-time MVP has only played once since March 8, and hasn’t seen the court since March 23 due to an MCL injury.
Golden State has tempered expectations for Curry’s return, with coach Steve Kerr stating firmly that Curry would not return until at least the second round of the playoffs.
But with the regular season over, and the 2018 NBA Playoffs starting in only two days, Curry has been teasing his return.
In a recent article in The Athletic about Chelsea Lane, the team’s head of physical performance and sports medicine, Curry gushed about Lane’s outstanding abilities. That’s all fine and dandy, but it’s the end of the article where things get interesting:
When queried for an example of how good Lane is at her job, Curry’s answer was as revealing as it was succinct:
“April 14, 2018.”
That, of course, is the day the playoffs start.
Now, it’s worth noting that April 14 is also the date that Curry is scheduled for his reevaluation, so it could be that he’s referring to that.
But, on the other hand, yesterday Curry took to Instagram to suggest he’s coming back sooner rather than later.
The post is a picture of Curry in the weight room, with a simple caption: “Soon come...”
Hopefully.
