One of the interesting things about Kerr’s offense is that it has concepts and patterns, rather than purely set plays.
For instance, if Klay Thompson is running off-ball, he usually has the option to either dive to the basket, or pop out for a catch-and-shoot three. And when he’s in the paint, he always has the option to pop out using a flare screen or to curl around the screen back into the paint. This is confusing for the defense, and he can react to the coverage to flow to the option of least resistance.
This would also be confusing for the offense, as Warriors newcomers find, but over time people know to set uncalled screens in response to Thompson’s movements and to make passes depending on the defense.
