Steph Curry made a dramatic return to action to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 58-55 lead over the New Orleans Pelican at halftime of Game 2 of the second round.
Curry somewhat surprisingly came off the bench in his return and immediate impact after a rousing ovation from the Oracle Arena crowd.

On his first possession in the game, Curry hit a three from the left wing and looked just like his old self. In a performance befitting fan anticipation of his return, Curry went into halftime leading the Warriors in scoring with 12 points.

By not starting Curry, #Warriors created this weird anticipatory energy in the building regarding when he was gonna come in. Everyone thought it would be much sooner. It wasn't. Pelicans got comfortable & off to a lead b/c of it.

And just in case you forgot that what Steph Curry does is simply not normal, here’s a crazy long shot off a broken play.

Stephen Curry's first half: 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-6 3p), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal. Team-best plus-15 in 12 minutes.

There were more awesome things that happened in the first half to help the Warriors to a lead, including Klay Thompson banking in a buzzer-beater from the right wing in addition to Draymond Green and Rajon Rondo barking at each other as they headed into the locker room. But on Unofficial Curry Appreciation Night, let’s just keep appreciating Curry because I’m sure you’ve heard about other ringless stars in the league who would never come off the bench under any circumstances.
