For the fourth consecutive season, the Golden State Warriors are going to the NBA Finals.
Let me say that one more time, because it feels absolutely crazy: For the fourth consecutive season, the Golden State Warriors are going to the NBA Finals.
And for the fourth consecutive year, they’ll meet LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers there. Game 1 is Thursday, May 31, at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
Not long ago, the Warriors were the laughing stock of the league. They had no success, and no future. Now, they’re the league’s elite, and will get the chance to try and repeat as champions, while chasing their third title in four seasons.
It wasn’t always pretty. By Golden State’s historically great standards, the 2017-18 season was a down year. They didn’t get the top seed, and it took them seven games to win the Western Conference Finals. They trailed by 11 at halftime in Game 7.
But they made it. And that means it’s time to celebrate, because it’s NBA Finals time!
What a team.
