Playoff watch thread: Rockets look to finish off the Jazz

Houston is on the verge of making the Western Conference Finals.

NBA: Playoffs-Houston Rockets at Utah Jazz Chris Nicoll-USA TODAY Sports

By the end of the night, the Western Conference Finals could be set. Before the Golden State Warriors look to finish off the New Orleans Pelicans, the Houston Rockets will seek to close the book on their second round series with the Utah Jazz.

So far the Rockets have thoroughly outclassed a less-talented and less-healthy Jazz team. They lead the series 3-1, with all three victories coming rather comfortably. Despite the best work of Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, and Joe Ingles, the potent trio of James Harden, Chris Paul, and Clint Capela has simply been too much.

It seems all but guaranteed that the Rockets and Warriors will square off in the next round, as it has seemed since the season started so many months ago. But even if the result feels already determined, it’s still a lot of fun to watch.

So if you feel like some good basketball before the Dubs game, Houston and Utah tip things off at 5:00 p.m. PT on TNT.
