The 2018-19 NBA season is officially ruined!
It’s not just that the Golden State Warriors have DeMarcus Cousins — they will have a version of the emotional All-NBA Center that is motivated to win a championship and determined to come back from his Achilles injury better than ever.

Good Luck, NBA.
Hyperbole aside, the vibe of Cousins’ introductory press conference, was very much a reflection of a confident and candid player that has a lot to prove after sustaining a ruptured Achilles six months ago.
Cousins had no reservations in opening up and divulging to the media his feelings about the process of rehab, and how it wears on him.
“It’s the worst,” Cousins revealed. “Waking up everyday doing the exact same thing. It can drive you crazy. But I take it as a test. It’s just another obstacle to overcome. I use that as fuel for the next step.”

Cousins also said that he talked to current and former players that dealt with this injury in the past such as Kobe Bryant, Rudy Gay, Dominique Wilkins, and Wes Matthews to get different perspectives in their process to recovery.
As far as Cousins’ own recovery? He said while there is no definite timetable in his return, he is getting stronger everyday and making weekly progress.
In addition to the physical toil of rehab, Cousins also had to endure the emotional toil of dealing with teams that didn’t want to take on the risk of signing the four-time NBA All Star coming off of the injury PLUS the reservations about his temperament. Cousins was on the record of saying that he received no offers in free agency, and decided to call Warriors’ GM Bob Myers and pitch. Reports surfaced that the New Orleans Pelicans did make an offer to Cousins-a claim that he refutes.
“Only Dell Demps and I know what was said on the phone that night,” Cousins said during his presser. “We both know that truth and I’ll leave it at that.”
On what excites him about becoming a Warriors, Cousins cited the opportunity to play for a winner.

In addition to playing for a team that embodies a winning culture, Cousins believes that he will mesh well with his new teammates and lauds their overall nature.
“It’s a great group of guys...easygoing people outside of Draymond” Cousins joked, “But it’s a great group and we mesh well.”
Cousins have played with the four all stars on team USA in the past, but it is Klay Thompson that Cousins like the most.
“Just to put it out there, my favorite by far is Klay,” Cousins said, “ Our short time in the summer for him to be as dull as he is, there’s never a dull moment.’”
Speaking of the lack of ‘dull moments’ on the court, the thought of sharing the floor with friend Draymond Green to Cousins is straight comedy.

Cousins will wear 0 for the ‘Dubs — that had been Patrick McCaw’s number ever since his rookie season in 2016. So how tough it was to pry the number away?
“Let’s just say Pat’s a tough negotiator,” Cousins said.
As for Patrick McCaw’s number, I’m told that McCaw was aware of Cousins getting the #0 and would pick another one in the event that he re-signs with the Warriors this summer.— Logan Murdock (@loganmmurdock) July 19, 2018
