It’s been less than a month since the Golden State Warriors last played a basketball game. And they’re already back on the court. Summer League tipped off today, and the Warriors have the first game in the Sacramento league.

What: Summer League Sacramento, Golden State Warriors vs Miami Heat

When: 6:00 p.m. PT

TV: NBA TV

No Evans for Golden State

Warriors fans will have to wait a little longer to see their team’s first-round selection. Jacob Evans III, the 28th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, will not be making his professional debut tonight. Instead, he’ll sit with a toe injury, though it’s mostly precautionary at this point.

Names to watch

With Evans out, the most notable players for the Warriors are Jordan Bell and Damian Jones, who both have guaranteed contracts for this year. The Warriors will be looking for big things from these two, as they’re currently the only centers on the roster.

For Miami, the player to watch is Bam Adebayo, their first-round selection from a year ago. Adebayo had a strong rookie campaign, and a good summer showing could pave the way for Miami to explore moving Hassan Whiteside.

Also keep your eye on Derrick Jones Jr., who competed in the 2017 Slam Dunk Contest. He has some absurd athleticism and could have some great summer league highlights.

Warriors basketball is back, everyone! Enjoy it!
