He may be one of the best basketball players on the planet, but Steph Curry is also gunning for the title of star golfer. The Golden State Warriors point guard just announced that, for the second year in a row, he’ll be playing in the Web.com Tour’s Ellie Mae Classic tournament in Hayward this August.
In case you missed it last year, Curry did pretty darn well for an amateur, shooting 74 on both days, and finishing ahead of three professionals, just 11 strokes off the cut.
Stephen Curry is coming back for more golf. The #Warriors star will compete in next week’s https://t.co/JgMWAPnyWb Tour event in Hayward: https://t.co/RSm3BmQyaY pic.twitter.com/8p6LSGNCmd

Curry is very vocal about his passion for golf, and now the world is starting to see just how talented he is at it. There is little doubt that, if he chose to focus on golf instead of basketball, Curry would have success at the professional ranks.
But for now, he’s a professional basketball player and an amateur golfer, which makes his success on the links that much more impressive. The tournament takes place August 9-12, so tune into it (or head to Hayward to watch it) if you want to see Curry’s swing!
