Some feel-good stories simply never get old. And the “gift your parents something nice for their support after you achieve success” feel-good story is about as good as it gets.
The participant this time is Quinn Cook. After spending a few years fighting for his role in professional basketball, Cook is finally able to cash the kind of checks that basketball players dream of.
After leaving Duke in 2015 and going undrafted, Cook spent all of the 2015-16 season in the G-League. In 2016-17, he spent most of the year in the G-League, though he did make his NBA debut. He played just 14 games, on a series of 10-day contracts.
Last year, however, he broke out. After starting the year on a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors, Cook played a vital role when Steph Curry went down with an injury. His success resulted in the Warriors guaranteeing his contract for the end of the season (and the playoffs), and giving him a guaranteed contract for the 2018-19 season. He figures to play a huge role this year, and will also get a full season’s worth of NBA money for the first time in his career.
And he’s doing awesome things with it. At his summer camp, Cook did something marvelous, when he surprised his mother with a brand new, very nice Range Rover. The touching moment took place in front of his friends and his campers, and thankfully was caught on video. Check it out:

His mother, Janet Cook, obviously deserves a lot of credit for the success that Quinn is now experiencing.
These moments are pretty special, and you can’t help but feel great for the Cook family.
