This is beyond cool. Many NBA stars have basketball camps, as an opportunity to give back to their community, interact with fans, and help lead the next generation of hoopers. These camps are, not surprisingly, dominated by boys and young men, and often a place where girls and young women are either not allowed, or don’t feel particularly comfortable.
Stephen Curry is changing that. He just unveiled his latest camp with the Golden State Warriors, called the “It’s Our Game” basketball camp. And it is only for women.
If you think the idea is cool, wait until you see some of the highlights.

In addition to getting some basketball lessons from Curry, the campers got to have a conversation with some successful women in sports, including Warriors’ sideline reporter Kerith Burke.

Not only did Curry debut this camp for girls, but, for the first time, he had some young women at his Under Armour camp, and they impressed mightily.

The women’s game is growing at an incredibly pace; hopefully these types of camp are the norm in years to come. For now, props to Curry for helping grow the game for all basketball lovers.
