Damion Lee is a lot of things. He’s a player with an at-times dominant past in the G League, where he has averaged 16.4 points per game while shooting 36.1% from deep. He’s a tall guard who flashed a lot of signs during 15 games as a rookie last year with the Atlanta Hawks. And he’s the soon-to-be brother-in-law of Stephen Curry.
And, of course, he’s one of the newest members of the Golden State Warriors, as he joined the team on a two-way contract in July.
Lee was recently profiled by the site 2 Ways & 10 Days, which focuses on the G League, players under short or restricted contracts, and all other things dealing with those players who reside on the precipice of the NBA. It’s a terrific article with a lot of insight from Lee, and from the author, Adam Johnson.
One of the best quotes from Lee comes when asked about his support system: “Just the understanding of what the sacrifice of what other people have done for me to get to be in this position. Just being grateful, I have gratitude and appreciation for them being along with me on this journey.”
This new Warrior is worth getting to know, so I encourage you to read the article. And hopefully we’ll be seeing Lee on the court next to Curry someday soon.
