In case you missed it, Manu Ginobili retired from the NBA yesterday. I wrote about the departure of the star, one of the most innovative and unique players in NBA history, who played 16 seasons for the San Antonio Spurs.
Not surprisingly, I wasn’t the only person with words to say about the charismatic and creative lefty. While many writers had great stories and poetic words, the best messages came from those who competed with, and against the four-time champion.
And that includes the Golden State Warriors. Ginobili played the Warriors 46 times during the regular season, plus another 15 times in the playoffs, spanning three series. He also was teammates with Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
So it comes as no surprise that a lot of those players on the Warriors had some kind words for an all-time great leaving the game. Check them out:
One of the all time greats. Fearless, funny, compassionate and competitive as hell. Thank you Manu! https://t.co/eZ61cWRvGb

Steve Kerr on Manu Ginobili: “He had this perfect balance to the way he played ... he never shied away from a shot, even on his worst night, and never seemed restricted in any way.

“I wish I could have played and felt that way on the court.”https://t.co/iKgULhrvvF
