In case you missed the news, on Thursday David West announced his retirement from the NBA. This ends a 15-year career, which included two years, and two titles with the Golden State Warriors. West was a two-time All-Star who twice averaged more than 20 points per game, and brought toughness and leadership everywhere he went.
He’ll be missed by fans, but he’ll be missed even more so by those in the NBA community. Not surprisingly, his former Warriors teammates had some heartfelt words and sentiments upon West’s announcement. Check them out:

West will be missed by the team. Not only was he a solid contributor as a scorer, passer, rebounder, and defender, but he was a strong presence in the locker room, and a great voice when it came to social, civil, and political issues.
He was clearly loved by everyone on the Warriors, and even though the team didn’t make an effort to bring him back, he’ll be missed.
