Training camp started for the Golden State Warriors this week, and there was one injury on everybody’s mind: The Achilles of DeMarcus Cousins. And while news on that front appears to be good, there’s another injury impacting the team currently. Thankfully, this one doesn’t appear to be severe.
At Wednesday’s practice, Andre Iguodala was held out of scrimmages, due to a minor rib injury.

Beyond Cousins’ continued rehab, Warriors enter camp in a good place, health wise. Andre Iguodala didn’t scrimmage today with minor rib issue, but nothing else.

This obviously doesn’t mean much, for a variety of reasons. The team is describing the injury as minor, and since it’s just the second practice of the year, playing things conservatively makes a lot of sense. Opening day is still 20 days away, and with a veteran like Iguodala, getting healthy is far more important than being up to speed at practice.
Still, the former Finals MVP has been plagued a bit by injuries over the last few years. So hopefully this clears up quickly and doesn’t turn into something worse.
