This is the moment all of us Golden State Warriors fans have been waiting for.
Well ... sort of ...
Our beloved back-to-back champion Warriors will host the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at Oracle Arena at 5:30 p.m. PST to kick off their 2018-19 NBA preseason slate.
Joe Viray has already written up a preview of tonight’s game for us at Golden State of Mind and GSoM community member BornInDaEB has posted a fanshot about this being Kevin Durant’s birthday.
The only real intriguing update to post since that was posted is Steve Kerr’s gameday explanation for why third year center Damian Jones will start tonight’s game, as tweeted out by John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game.
Steve Kerr says Damian Jones will start tonight but doesn’t know beyond that. Kerr also lays out plan for #Warriors starters tonight.pic.twitter.com/7On9OyR6bn

Jones, who was the Warriors’ first round pick in 2016, has never started an NBA regular season game and his 2018 summer league campaign — which could’ve been a chance to show off his development — was cut short, as described by Brady Klopfer back in July.
So tonight is a real chance for him to show off what he can do. As Brady said previously, it’s probably too early to write the dude off altogether, but there will come a time when it makes more sense to just go in another direction instead of remaining patient with Jones.
If you’re going to be watching the game, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
