The Golden State Warriors showed they still have something to prove with their seventeen-point comeback in the second game of a back-to-back following a road-game at altitude, covering the seven-point spread and pushing their win streak to six games.

Now they embark on a tough road trip while attempting to integrate DeMarcus Cousins into the fold, returning to the scene of Draymond Green’s and Kevin Durant’s much publicized spat as they will attempt to cover against and beat the Clippers in Los Angeles for the first time this season as six-point favorites.

Here we discuss the odds and analysis from a betting perspective.

When: Friday January 18th, 2019 at 7:30pm PST.

Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California

Line: Warriors -6, total at 241.5

Injuries: Milos Teodosic (knee) and Luc Mbah a Moute (knee) are out for the Clippers

DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) is probable and Damian Jones (pectoral) is out for the Warriors.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers fell to 24-20 on the season after their 129-120 home loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday and have now lost four in a row.

Los Angeles is led by Tobias Harris with 20.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, and Lou Williams with 4.9 assists per game.

The Clippers are scoring 115.2 points per game (5th of 30), allowing 114.7 points per game (25th of 30), earning a simple rating system (SRS) score of 1.36 (14th of 30), pace factor of 100.8 (9th of 30), offensive rating of 113.2 (8th of 30) and defensive rating of 112.7 (23rd of 30).

Los Angeles is 24-20 against the spread (ATS), 24-19-1 to the over/under, 7-11 ATS as an underdog, 2-4 ATS as a home underdog, 3-3 to the over/under as a home underdog and 8-10 to the over/under as an underdog this season.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are playing with the tenacity, offensive flow and explosiveness that has typically struck fear in the rest of the league and resignation and resentment among NBA fans outside of the Bay Area, currently sitting at 31-14 and atop the Western Conference standings.

Golden State is led by Stephen Curry scoring 29.8 points per game, and Kevin Durant with 7.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.

The Warriors are scoring 118.6 points per game (1st of 30), allowing 112.3 points per game (21st of 30), earning a SRS score of 6.04 (2nd of 30), pace factor of 100.3 (10th of 30), offensive rating of 117.2 (1st of 30) and defensive rating of 110.9 (16th of 30).

The Dubs are 19-25-1 ATS, 25-20 to the over/under, 14-15-1 ATS after a win, 12-14 ATS with one day off, 13-4 to the over/under as an away favorite, 14-7 to the over/under as the away team, 19-11 to the over/under after a win and 15-11 to the over/under after a day off this season.

During this winning streak, the Warriors went into Dallas where they lost earlier and won and traveled to Denver where they had previously fallen short and destroyed the team that had the best record in the conference.

Do you see a pattern?

Now they are going back to the scene of Draymond and KD’s verbal altercation that occurred in the heat of an overtime loss to the hated Clippers and marked the beginning of their worst slump this season?

The Clippers have covered four straight against Golden State and you can be sure as hell that they are going to be fired up and ready to fight Friday night.

But Los Angeles does not have a real star in their line up and they have not been playing well recently, and the Warriors are playing with the intensity of a team that wants to crush souls and leave no doubt.

Golden State’s current offensive explosiveness and solid team play might have a hiccup or two with Boogie in the line up, but we still can only lean toward the over and laying the six points with the Dubs.
