Real-Time Game Notes

  • Was amazed that Boogie beat everyone downcourt, until I realized he never crossed half court.
  • Then a loud dunk for Boogie off the KD pick and roll.
  • ‏Boogie looks quite on track to get a tech. KD, inspired, berates a ref.
  • ‏Klay must have gone double or nothing with Zaza because he’s just trying to dunk every layup this week
  • ‏Steph has Avery Bradley bulldogging him so Kerr opts to put him cutting off-ball and screening for KD. Good looks for KD and mismatches. But does reduce Steph usage.
  • ‏It’s not going to help Cousins’s paranoia that all three of his fouls have been pretty weak.
  • ‏Haha, GSW swaps the spots of Klay (in post) and DMC (spacing on the wing) and Boogie hits a no-hesitation 3.
  • ‏LAC bench O cannot yet exploit Boogie’s D. He’s slow but been in position, and the other Dubs are strong, swarming wings.
  • Boogie beats everyone down court (legitimately, not cherry picking), seals position in the post, then puts on traditional spin moves for the foul.
  • ‏haha, good job of Quinn to go hard to the hoop on the break, since the defender was playing to cut off the pass to Steph all the way.
  • ‏Jim Barnett on Bradley and Beverley: “Evidently they are crowding Steph without touching him. (chuckle) Since they haven’t called any touch fouls.”
  • ‏Dray and Beverley look like they’ve been having a constant conversation this game. Likely about how the family is, the weather, that the other’s parents weren’t married when they were conceived, etc.
  • ‏You all know I’m not a ref complainer, but they absolutely have a double standard for Dray’s rim hanging.
  • ‏Dray waves Klay to cut to the hoop on the split cut so Boogie can get an open 3. Next play, hits another open 3, I think on a similar cut? Then Boogie mashes turbo button to get a steal and slow breakaway fast break.
  • ‏ANOTHER Boogie/Klay split at the elbow, this time Boogie hits Andre at the wing for an open three. Then he fouls out.
  • ‏Fun fact: if you add the number of points and assists that DMC scores tonight, and add 70, you can calculate the % the league is ruined. So if DMC has a 5 PTS, 2 AST line, the league is 77% ruined. If he gets nothing, the league is still 70% ruined.
  • Update: Boogie with 14 PTS, 3 AST. The league is 87% ruined. Seems about right.
  • ‏Klay with the cup spike, bouncing 360, then another cup spike. Splash Brothers indeed.
  • ‏Boogie in the locker room to Klay: “I seen Steph coming but I thought he had another interview. I didn’t see you.”
  • On the water ambush. I don’t think we’ve had one since Steph did the blind towel throw to knock the cups out of ambushing Dray’s hands?
