Stephen Curry is a Warrior Wonder, on and off the court

38 points in a big win, met up with Obama, and hosted a screening for a movie he produced about White Supremacy

the hug - Beal to the Warriors confirmed!

I have to be honest, writing up yet another article about just how amazing Steph Curry is can be tough.

Not because I’m tired of talking about him or his game, but mostly due to the repetition. Sustained greatness is amazing to witness, but doesn’t leave a ton of room for analysis, other than “wow.” So... WOW!

Another dynamic night from Stephen Curry. 38 points on just 24 field goal attempts - all in spite of going just two of eight from deep

Although he may never live down his reputation as a one-dimensional shooter, it’s through no fault of Curry’s. While no one in the history of the league has fared quite as well from beyond the arc, it doesn’t define his entire game. This game was a perfect demonstration of the flexibility of his game.

Watch his cuts and acceleration in this clip, and ask yourself, ‘why isn’t Curry known for being athletic?”

Off court, Curry continues to do good things

A few months back, Curry announced his plans to run his own film and media production company. They just had their first real event, and like Curry’s on-court prowess, his off-court work is extremely impactful.

The story is most definitely not lighthearted. The documentary tells the story of Dylann Roof, a young man who walked into a Bible study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina and killed nine people in cold blood.

As Mark Wright writes for The Undefeated, Curry’s mother was in attendance and was overwhelmed by how Curry has leveraged his fame. On the court, he uses his skillset to make those around him better; off the court, he takes the same energy.

“Well, right in the middle of [the screening], I texted [husband] Dell and was like, ‘I think this is one of the top proudest moments as a mom for me.’ And then I texted [Stephen’s wife] Ayesha the same thing,” Curry said. “I’ve cried the whole night, for one, from the movie itself, and two, just … I’m really, truly amazed that God is using my son and allowing him to be a part of things like this, but also allowing me to be witness to it as well. So it is truly just … it just blows me away.”

Me too, Sonya. Me too.
