Steph Curry’s scorching night vs Kings sets him up for Warriors Wonder

42 points from the greatest point guard alive was amazing, but we also can’t forget about Kevin Durant’s efficient facilitation.

NBA: Golden State Warriors at Sacramento Kings

The defending back-to-back champions survived yet another monstrous effort from the upstart Sacramento Kings Saturday night, 127-123.

It took a total team effort from the Golden State Warriors, spearheaded by their two MVP’s Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Warriors Wonder Nominee: Steph Curry

42 points, 14-of-26 shooting from the field, 10-for-20 from three-point range, 5 rebounds, 6 turnovers.

Mr. Curry was a major part of the reason that the two teams combined for the most made three-pointers in a game in NBA history. His ten triples ripped off the doors of the Kings’ defense, as he flummoxed them with constant movement and razor sharp accuracy.

Part of what made his performance so amazing was the necessity of it. Kings’ guard Buddy Hield nailed eight treys of his own, and Curry seemed activated by the shootout.

Warriors Wonder Nominee: Kevin Durant

29 points, 11-of-20 shooting from the field, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, 1 turnover

Durant was killing the Kings all night. His scoring alone would have been enough to get him the WW on most nights, but his brilliant playmaking is what really caught my eye. For a 7-footer to dish nine dimes and have only one turnover is preposterously good.

It was also pretty cool to see him knife through the lane for this soaring jam.
