Draymond Green will not play during the Golden State Warriors upcoming three-game road trip. The three-time All-Star, who injured a finger ligament during a loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday, is staying in the Bay Area while the team is on the road.
The Warriors play tonight against the Houston Rockets, on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and on Saturday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The earliest that Green could return is on Monday, when the team will be back in San Francisco to host the Utah Jazz.
D’Angelo Russell, who sprained his ankle in the same game that Green was injured in, could be returning sooner. The All-Star has been ruled out for the Rockets game, but is traveling with the team. That suggests that he could return on Friday or Saturday.
Draymond Green (finger) didn’t travel on this three city trip. Also, D’Angelo Russell (ankle) is out for tonight.— Connor Letourneau (@Con_Chron) November 6, 2019
Russell is clearly progressing, which is encouraging.
With those two - plus Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevon Looney - out, the Warriors will trot out a starting lineup of Ky Bowman, Jordan Poole, Glenn Robinson III, Eric Paschall, and Willie Cauley-Stein.
After using a different starting lineup in each of the team’s first six games, this will be the third straight game with the same starting five.
