Warriors vs. Wolves: Can the young Dubs grab a road win?

Golden State will get a glimpse of Karl-Anthony Towns in a Friday night show down.

The road trip marches on, as the Golden State Warriors visit the Minnesota Timberwolves at 5:00 p.m. PT on NBC Sports Bay Area.

It’s a game with some exciting star talent, as the Warriors are not only welcoming back D’Angelo Russell, but getting to see Karl-Anthony Towns for the first time this year. Towns has been on a tear (when not suspended), averaging 26.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game, while shooting 46.7% on threes (and shooting nine of them a game!)

Notably, Towns and Russell are very close friends. But for the next few hours, that will no longer be the case. As Russell Westbrook once said, “When I’m hooping, I have no friends. Spalding, that’s my friend.”

The Warriors newest All-Star apparently agrees.

The Warriors have their work cut out for them with Towns, especially with Kevon Looney and Draymond Green - the team’s two best interior defenders - sidelined with injuries.

Can they pick up their third win of the season, and second road win?

We’re about to find out . . .
