It’s the Alec Burks and D’Angelo Russell show tonight!
Anyone smell that tank exhaust? Just me?
Draymond Green is out. Call it rest, load management, fatigue, or small injuries - the point is that the All Star Forward will not suit up after playing 40 minutes in the overtime loss to the New York Knicks a couple of days ago.
So too goes rookie Eric Paschall. Though he did travel with the team to Utah, he’s sitting out as well with what the team has deemed “lingering hip tightness.”
Ky Bowman, who is 4th on the team with nearly 600 total minutes logged this season is down in the D League. Uninjured, this is more about stretching his allowed 45 day limit with the team (at least until the lower league season ends at the end of March).
Between the three of them, you are looking at a significant handicap heading into tonight’s game. And the Warriors, the very worst team in the NBA, do not need any additional added difficulty.
The Utah Jazz have some minor injury concerns of their own. Looks like Mike Conley is doing his annual injury bug tour in a fresh new city; but the Jazz should still have plenty of power to defeat these lamentable 2019-2020 Warriors.
But hey, if you’re looking for some sliver of hope in this destitute wilderness of insalubrious basketball I can offer this - it’s not much, but a starving person should never turn down any offer of sustenance:

Oh my god this game is going to be so ugly.
