Warriors host Rockets amidst Christmas day NBA spectacular

New, comments

Win for fun, or lose and get a better draft pick? There’s something for everyone today!

Phoenix Suns v Golden State Warriors

Happy Holidays everyone! It’s Christmas Day here and Santa has brought goodies to those who celebrate today. But no matter what your tradition, the Golden State Warriors will take to the court to offer up some holiday cheer for all as they take on the Houston Rockets (and their spreadsheets that say they should have won because of “potential points.”

But it’s not just Golden State today, the NBA spirits are shining all across the land today:

The Warriors Rockets rivalry is hibernating, but don’t try and tell that to Houston

The Warriors are on their first two-game win streak of the season. Also, the fact that we are calling two consecutive wins a “streak” should tell you everything you need to know about how this season has gone so far (not good).

This is something of an off year for the Warriors, but don’t tell the Rockets - they’ll surely be coming in to town looking to send a message to their non-existent rivals. It’s a no excuses league, but that hasn’t slowed down Houston’s chase for respect.

Golden State fans are going to get something pleasant in their stockings today. Win and we get to see what sort of prevarications the Rockets will come up with next. Lose, and it’s one step closer to the top pick in next year’s draft.

Plenty of action around the league

Starting at 9am, or roughly three hours after my kids wake me up, the NBA has quite the triple header coming out way.

While the Celtics and Raptors don’t scream “marquee matchup” these are both teams that figure to play heavily in the eventual champion that emerges from the Eastern conference.

Then at 11:30, we stay on the East Coast for a Sixers versus Bucks game that is full of top tier superstars, and playoff seeding implications.

Prediction

Oh, the Warriors should get absolutely demolished today on National television.

But on the other hand, I’m pretty sure my wife is going to love her now Ugg boots.

May all of you have a fantastic holiday season with your loved ones!
