On Monday night, in a spectacular and emotional ceremony, Golden State Warriors All-Star Draymond Green had his jersey retired at Michigan State University, where he played for four years under iconic coach Tom Izzo.
The Warriors sent a large group of people to witness the moment in person, but prior to the evening they released a video on social media, congratulating the three-time NBA champion. It’s pretty great.
Michigan State through & through.

The video features star teammates Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, head coach Steve Kerr, general manager Bob Myers, and former teammate and current front office member Zaza Pachulia. They all have pretty touching words for Green, including Curry saying, “you know how I feel about you, but this is an amazing honor, so much congratulations to you bro“ and Thompson calling Green “a true Midwest hero.”
With the exception of Curry - who cannot currently travel due to the pins in his wrist - everyone in the video attended the ceremony.
It’s pretty clear that Draymond Green is beloved within the Warriors organization.
