Kevin Durant will not be playing vs the Houston Rockets Wednesday night after a suffering an ankle contusion against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.

This is yet another game in which the teams won’t be at full strength. In the first tilt, Stephen Curry didn’t play. In the second game, Chris Paul didn’t play. James Harden didn’t play in the third game. All those games were victories for a Houston team that is shaking off the mental demons from losing a Game 7 at home to the back-to-back champs.

Now Durant will be missing this game as a precautionary measure. I’m glad that Durant’s going to be fine in the long run, and his heavy touches will be distributed amongst the Splash Bros and a recuperating DeMarcus Cousins.

Durant is averaging 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists on the season, and is an outside contender for the Most Valuable Player award.
