Andrew Bogut is returning to the Golden State Warriors, but he’s still a ways away from joining the defending champions.
This week’s road trip was the initial target for Bogut’s return. Golden State visits the Houston Rockets tonight for the first of four straight road games - the final one coming on Tuesday at the Minnesota Timberwolves.
However, that target has been delayed, and the Warriors are now hoping to welcome Bogut back on their next home stand. That three-game home stand begins on Thursday, March 21 against the Indiana Pacers.
Mark Medina of the Mercury News reported that Bogut has yet to receive his work visa, and is hoping to get it by this weekend. At that point he’ll make the long flight from Australia to the Bay Area, and get ready to return to the team.
Assuming Bogut returns for that game against the Pacers, he’ll be making his debut 15 days after the team made the signing official. It will give the center just 12 regular season to get re-acclimated to his former team and new role.
