Warriors without Durant against red hot Rockets

NBA: Houston Rockets at Golden State Warriors

Welcome to the 2019 Golden State Warriors season, where the games don’t matter and the record is irrelevant.

A team of pure dichotomy, the Warriors. are somehow having a disappointing season while maintaining the top seed in the crowded Western conference. They are facing the Houston Rockets for the fourth and final time this (regular) season. Currently, the Rockets hold a 3-0 edge on the regular season and their participation trophy is all but assured. I’m sure it will be displayed proudly in Houston, right next to their “we almost had ‘em in 2018” award.

No Kevin Durant tonight, as he recovers from a rolled ankle sustained in the Warriors recent defeat at the hands of the Phoenix Suns - which was one of just 16 total wins on the season for the desert-dwellers. But don’t worry, there is some footage from practice yesterday and Durant was shooting and moving around alright- though he doesn’t look like he’ll be back in time for the Thunder on Saturday. In keeping with how weird this season has been, Durant joins a list of notable players that have missed every matchup between two of the best teams in the West.
