The Golden State Warriors will face the San Antonio Spurs tonight at 5 p.m. in Texas with a whole lot of changes to the lineup since their last game, headlined by Andrew Bogut’s return to the champs.
Here’s a quick rundown for you through a list of links to the other articles on our site:
- DeMarcus Cousins to have MRI, prompting Andrew Bogut to join the team on Monday
- Andre Iguodala out, Kevin Durant back vs. the Spurs
So the expectation for most people was that Bogut would get minutes without centers DeMarcus Cousins and Damian Jones in the lineup — with Jordan Bell, Kevon Looney, and ... Jonas Jerebko ... ? ... the only other available bigs, the Warriors needed another big body to use in their rotation.
What probably wasn’t expected from most was that he’d start, as reported by Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area.
Andre Bogut will get the start vs Spurs tonight, per Warriors coach Steve Kerr. Bogut's response to the news? 'He burst out laughing.'

Bogut’s last NBA start came with the L.A. Lakers in late-December 2017 — it’s been a while and perhaps we should temper expectations due to some expected rust. Nonetheless, it’s somewhat exciting to welcome back the big guy in a time of need as everyone is gearing up for the playoffs.
Feel free to leave your thoughts on Bogut starting and observations of the game as it unfolds — this is about the most exciting thing to happen in a regular season game since DeMarcus Cousins’ debut.
