Warriors vs Grizzlies: Health over victories

The Golden State Warriors will face the Memphis Grizzlies tonight with very little on the line, if we’re honest with ourselves.

Yes, it would be nice to get some breathing room from the Denver Nuggets for first place in the Western Conference, but it’s already clear that this team isn’t placing much importance on the top seed in the 2019 NBA Playoffs — health matters more and, if the 2018 championship is any indication, that makes a ton of sense.

Speaking of health, however, Warriors coach Steve Kerr has said that everyone on the roster (aside from Jordan Bell) will be available to play in tonight’s game ... so that’s a pleasant development.

But in the end, I’m really glad Kerr has helped some of the more anxious fans among us put things in perspective by pushing the narrative of health over regular season success and brushing off these bad losses by reminding people of the big goal.

Let’s just hope the team stays relatively healthy after today’s game and move on.
