Golden State Warriors front office member Larry Harris has been granted permission to interview with the New Orleans Pelicans regarding their open general manager position. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
New Orleans has been granted permission to interview several front office candidates for GM job, including Golden State’s Larry Harris, Brooklyn’s Trajan Langdon and Houston’s Gersson Rosas, league sources tell ESPN. There are more candidates expected to be in the process.

Harris has been with the Warriors organization, in a variety of roles, for over a decade. After spending more than 20 years with the Milwaukee Bucks, including a stint as general manager, Harris joined the Warriors for the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach.
After one year of coaching, Harris moved to the front office to work as a scout and consultant. A few years ago he was promoted to director of player personnel, and soon after he added assistant general manager to his resume.
He has been assistant general manager for a few years now, and played a strong role in helping form a dynasty.
The Pelicans present an interesting opportunity for Harris, should he get the position. The team fired their last GM, Dell Demps earlier in the season, after the fiasco involving Anthony Davis. Whoever inherits the team will inherit a superstar who wants to be traded, as well as an All-Star talent in Jrue Holiday.
Will Harris be that person? He will likely face stiff competition, but he’s certainly well qualified.
Harris also interviewed for the GM position with the Philadelphia 76ers last season.
