In case you missed the surprising news, the Golden State Warriors are planning on signing Andrew Bogut for the rest of the season. Bogut just finished up his year playing in Australia’s NBL, where he won both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
And one member of the Warriors seems particularly excited about the Bogut addition: Steph Curry. Curry spent a lot of time playing alongside Bogut, who was acquired by the Warriors in 2012, and played there until the end of the 2015-16 season.
Curry certainly expressed surprise at the news of Bogut’s return, but enthusiasm seemed to be the primary sentiment.

“It’s so exciting, weird, a blast from the past, all that combined,” Curry explained. “Obviously I know they got a couple more steps before it’s official, but he’s a guy that we got a lot of experience with. He knows our system, he knows how we do things around here. He was instrumental in that turnaround to become a championship-caliber team. The fact that he’s doing what he’s doing in Australia, obviously he still loves to play the game. So I know he’ll be able to help us.”
Curry and Bogut have teamed up for a lot of highlights together, and hopefully we’ll get a few more. And when I think about the two playing together, I always think of one thing: the time Bogut started celebrating a Curry three before the ball was even shot . . . and almost accidentally blocked it in the process.
