The Golden State Warriors are celebrating Women’s Empowerment Month tonight when they host the Boston Celtics. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Women’s Empowerment Month t-shirt, and the in-arena entertainment will feature two outstanding women: DJ Umami, who will provide music during the game, and Adrienn Banhegyi, the world’s fastest jump roper, who will perform at halftime.
Golden State will be celebrating this powerful month all month long. Another giveaway will come on March 21, when a full team poster will be handed out to fans. Performing the music at that game will be 10-year old DJ Livia, while the Peninsula Girls Choir will sing the national anthem.
The team, in partnership with Chase, is also producing a video series to highlight outstanding women. The four-part series will focus on 2018 WNBA MVP and Finals MVP Breanna Stewart, San Francisco mayor London Breed, chef, entrepreneur, and activist Dominica Rise-Cisneros, and the Warriors Dance Team.
Finally, the team is partaking in a host of community outreach programs this month, and each will be focused on a topic pertinent to women’s empowerment.
