The final steps are being taken to allow Andrew Bogut to return to the Golden State Warriors. According to a report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Bogut has officially received his letter of clearance from the NBL, the Australian basketball league whose season just ended.
Bogut spent the year in the NBL with the Sydney Kings, and was voted league MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. However, he needed clearance from the league in order to join the NBA once again.

With the clearance handled, Bogut can officially begin negotiating with the Warriors. The two sides have, not surprisingly, agreed on a one-year, veteran’s minimum contract.
Bogut and the Warriors will now work to finalize a one-year, minimum contract. The NBL’s MVP is expected to hold a formal press conference soon with the Sydney Kings to announce his move. https://t.co/aXN82DW7x5

No word yet on when the contract will be finalized, and when Bogut will be able to join the team that he won a title with in 2015. But it’s certainly looking like it will be sooner rather than later.
That’s a good thing, because the Warriors only have 18 games left. And after yesterday’s miserable showing, they’re probably happy to welcome a defensively-strong center into the fold.
