Warriors vs. Grizzlies: The last game of the regular season

For those of you that care about every regular season as though it’s the defining moment of this relatively young dynasty, I’m sure tonight’s game is a sad occasion.

When the Golden State Warriors face the Memphis Grizzlies tonight, it will be their final game of the 2019 NBA regular season. This was a regular season that was largely meaningless for those, including Steve Kerr and the Warriors players, yet it was extremely meaningful for those who believe NBA teams should not be judged on their ability to win titles, but on the content of their regular season character.

Those intimate hours of screaming at other commenters in the comments or on Twitter have come and gone and all we’re left with is a number one seed and the realization that there were, in fact, bigger things on the horizon than this 82-game slog in which the Warriors clearly took multiple games off.

In fact, you probably won’t even see the team’s stars very much in tonight’s finale of the all-important regular season.

I salute those who have the time and energy to furiously criticize a four-time NBA finalist based on what they did on a dreary night in January for I do not possess that strength. I guess I’ve just been saving it all for the possibility of celebrating a championship for the third year in a row, which is something that I just personally find pretty cool.

Enjoy tonight’s game!
